Testing and quality

Heavy metals (nickel, lead, mercury, arsenic, cobalt, chromium) are substances whose voluntary inclusion in cosmetic products is prohibited by Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 of 2009. However, since these substances are ubiquitous and widely distributed in the environment, it is impossible to rule out the absolute presence in cosmetics of their impurities (impurities on the order of ppm or less, where 1 ppm -or part per million- equals 0.0001%). Indeed, the Cosmetics Regulation itself, while prohibiting their voluntary inclusion, tolerates “their presence in traces provided that it is technically unavoidable.” That being said, in order to avoid or minimize accidental contamination by heavy metals, YouGlam carefully selects raw materials according to their degree of purity, strictly controls the production process, during the formulation design stages, inserts in the products substances capable of retaining accidental heavy metal impurities in order to prevent them from being released on the skin, and monitors with specific tests the possible presence of their impurities in its products in order to ensure levels below the critical threshold capable of triggering allergic reactions in predisposed people, identified by the various guidelines.

In compliance with current European legislation on cosmetic products that prohibits animal testing for this category, YouGlam brand cosmetic products are not tested on animals. YouGlam further declares that, even before these bans came into effect, the company has never tested, nor commissioned third parties to test its cosmetics on animals, either as finished products or as prototypes of them, or as raw materials, either singly or in mixtures, components of them.

YouGlam is committed to a corporate policy of sustainable development, eco-efficiency and eco-compatibility, aimed at continuous improvement of production standards and raising the awareness of all personnel in terms of environmental protection. We are, therefore, committed to making more responsible purchasing and flow management choices through the conscious use of water, energy from renewable sources, and more eco-friendly raw materials and materials from traceable crops, responsible management, fair trade, and respectful of local people and the biodiversity of the places of collection. We make a point of carefully selecting our labor suppliers, giving preference to those engaged in re-employment of disadvantaged people.

Generally speaking, starting from the production process, we prefer to choose raw materials from safe cultivation, opt for plant oils and natural active ingredients certified according to recognized international standards, avoid using natural substances that come from endangered species, minimize the use of harmful chemicals, and favor the use of energy produced from renewable sources such as solar energy.

The company is strongly committed to the choice of packaging that does not affect the preservation of the natural ecosystem.

Packaging components and paper are chosen for their environmental and social quality or for sourcing from responsible management sources. Specifically, the paper used for our product packaging and paper advertising materials is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified.

We are also working to decrease the weight and volume of our products, preferring cases without interiors and lighter primary packaging. We have reduced the number of products that need to be rinsed off in the shower, and we study, day after day, new textures that are easy to remove.

Payment

The most common credit cards are accepted: VISA, MASTERCARD, MAESTRO, AMERICAN EXPRESS. Payment via PayPal and cash on delivery is accepted. Google Pay express payment methods are also available.

Yes, COD shipping has a surcharge of €5.00 on the order total.

All information about your order, personal information and credit card is strictly protected. We adopt the most advanced standards in data transfer and information access. For credit card payments, financial information (card number, expiration date, etc.) is not retained under any circumstances.

Shipping

A fixed fee of €5.90 (including VAT) will be charged for shipping within Italy; For orders over €29, shipping is free. For foreign countries (European Union and United Arab Emirates) the rates are as follows:

  • Zone 1: Germany €16.60
  • Zone 2: Austria, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands € 17.31
  • Zone 3: Croatia, Denmark, Ireland, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Hungary € 18.05
  • Zone 4: Cyprus, Bulgaria, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Portugal, Romania and Slovakia € 20.26
  • Zone 5: United Arab Emirates € 35

For foreign orders over €150, shipping is free.

Generally, your order will be given to the courier within 2 working days from the date of confirmation. You will then receive an email with information to track your shipment.

The courier will make a second delivery attempt approximately the following business day. If even the second attempt is unsuccessful, your order will be placed in storage at the courier’s local office pending new instructions from the shipper. You will then be contacted by our customer service department to reschedule the delivery.

Returns and Refunds

If the product you received has defects, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service department, specifying the item number found on the order confirmation, the type of defect found, and attaching a photo showing the issue (if possible).
